Little Wins This Week #4

Little Wins This Week is about remembering that little things add up to make a big difference. It is about counting small blessings, however insignificant they may seem. Little Wins is about being mindful, staying positive and making each day count.

I have decided to blog about my Little Wins as I believe putting it down in words will consolidate the good. I will do this every week on a Sunday, recounting all the little things that mattered to me that week. The focus will be on staying upbeat and looking for that silver lining even to the darkest of clouds.

I seem to have found my blog niche, something I have struggled with ever since Rambling Through Parenthood launched nearly five years ago. I am delighted to announce that I am a Family Lifestyle blog that covers family pursuits and interests, both indoors and outdoors.

Please feel free to write about your Little Wins and tag me so I can come along and have a read.

Blog:
For once, I am on track with the blog. I wrote five posts last week, which is a radical change from the measly five posts I wrote in the entire month of February last year. Writing is therapeutic and I am determined to carry on doing it.

I seem to have found my blog niche, something I have struggled with ever since Rambling Through Parenthood launched nearly five years ago. I am delighted to announce that I am a Family Lifestyle blog that covers family pursuits and interests, both indoors and outdoors.

Fitness and Health:
I watched a fascinating documentary on BBC 1 this week called The Truth About Getting Fit. It was all about reaping maximum health benefits with minimum exercise. Findings were based on scientific research and it has led me to rethink my exercise strategy. I hope to modify my workouts to reflect this newfound wisdom in the coming weeks.

Weight Loss:
Apart from a small blip, this week has been very much about sensible eating. Chocolate has been off the menu completely. This is a big win for me and I hope it means I have turned a corner with my chocolate addiction. Maybe writing a shopping list inspired by a midweek meal plan and not buying chocolate has something to do with it.

Parenthood:
This one is a struggle when you are dealing with a child who is 6 going on 16. All I say is this. I have noticed that I am a better, calmer parent when I am at peace with myself. A good night’s rest, an exercise session and a book before bedtime are three things I need to keep me happy. I am willing to make a more concentrated effort to incorporate these into my daily routine along with 10 minutes of mindfulness meditation.

Everything Else:
It was a delight to play host to our cousin who visited over the weekend. We didn’t do much as J was full of cold, but it was good to have family over all the same.

These are my Little Wins This Week. What have yours been?
