Mid-Week Meal Plan #1

Following on from my last post where I listed 50+ family meal ideas, I have decided to blog about my meal planning on a weekly basis. As I tend to do my grocery shop in the middle of the week, I think Wednesday is a good time to post my mid-week meal plan.

Why does the Universe need to know what we eat as a family? In the hope that it inspires you to make your own meal plans. It is a great way to save time and money, and eat healthy. Another reason why I will be sharing my mid-week meal plans is to debunk some myths around home-cooking.

Why does the Universe need to know what we eat as a family?

In the hope that it inspires you to make your own meal plans. It is a great way to save time and money. It helps reduce food waste. It also means you are better prepared and less likely to eat ready meals or take-aways. Win-win, if you ask me.

Another reason why I will be sharing my mid-week meal plans is to debunk some myths around home-cooking.

Myth 1:

Children need to eat specially prepared meals. This is simply not the case. A few tweaks with say, the amount of spice, the presentation or the sides, and everyone should be able to enjoy the same meal.

Myth 2:

Indian curries are spicy and difficult to make. Not true! Indian cooking is not limited to chicken tikka masala,  vindaloo and popadums. Indian food is easy to cook and it can be delicious without being spicy hot. All you need is a store cupboard with a few basic ingredients to get started.

Myth 3:

Cooking is tedious. Goodness knows I believed this myth. Not any more. I have figured out shortcuts and tricks to make my cooking quick and easy without compromising on taste.

If all goes to plan, I will be sharing my simplified recipes on the blog. Watch this space.

So here is the first mid-week meal plan.
