Little Wins This Week #2

Little Wins This Week is about remembering that little things add up to make a big difference. It is about counting small blessings, however insignificant they may seem. Little Wins is about being mindful, staying positive and making each day count.

I have decided to blog about my Little Wins as I believe putting it down in words will consolidate the good. I will do this every week on a Sunday, recounting all the little things that mattered to me that week. The focus will be on staying upbeat and looking for that silver lining even to the darkest of clouds.

Little Wins This Week is about remembering that little things add up to make a big difference. It is about counting small blessings, however insignificant they may seem. Little Wins is about being mindful, staying positive and making each day count.

Please feel free to write about your Little Wins and tag me so I can come along and have a read.

Blog:

It hasn’t been all song and dance on the blogging front. Without going into details (that will be a whole post by itself), it suffices to say that social media has not been particularly kind to bloggers this week. As this post is about silver linings, here is mine. Perhaps the time has come to re-focus on why I started blogging in the first place. It was never about social media. It was always about the writing. That is what I need to do. Write and then write some more.

Fitness:

I hit the gym three times this week, hurray! It wasn’t optimum, but it was definitely better than it has been in a very long time.

Weight Loss:

I haven’t bothered stepping on the scales this week as I know it is not going to be good. However, the new approach to home-cooking and blogging about my mid-week meal plan I have cooked from scratch every day this week. The next challenge is to stop snacking.

Parenthood:

I have devised a strategy to make early mornings and bedtimes smoother. It is early days, but it seems to be working. We have had a couple of lovely mother and son chats this week and it seems almost as if I have reconnected with my son. Mindfulness does hold the key to peaceful parenting and I am keen to unlock it.

Everything Else:

The BBC has impressed with a couple of dramas that I caught on i-player. The first was Hard Sun, a sci-fi crime thriller about the imminent end of the world. The second is called McMafia, a thriller based around Russian oligarchs in the UK. I haven’t watched all the episodes, but they looked promising. I am just glad that my license fee is being put to reasonably good use.

These are my Little Wins This Week. What have yours been?
