Chillfactor Frozen Milkshake Maker Review

My son no longer likes to drink milk. I now face a major parenting dilemma – how to make sure my child drinks the requisite amounts of fluids every day.

Now, J has never really been keen on drinking plain water. And he gets juices and squash only as an occasional treat. So milk was really our mainstay of hydration. The child who could not get enough of this healthy drink, has decided he has had enough of it.

I was getting to the end of my tether trying to work out ways and means to make him drink sugar-free, additive-free, healthy drinks. Turns out, J is happy to drink frozen milk disguised as a milkshake. So the arrival of the ChillFactor Frozen Milkshake Maker could not have been more opportune.

ChillFactor Frozen Milkshake Maker was really easy to assemble and use. It comes with an outer plastic cup, an inner cooling pack, a collar ring and a lid with a handle and blades. There is a plastic straw/spoon that you use to scoop/slurp your frozen treat.

All I did was pop the inner ice-pack into the plastic cup, put the collar in place and freeze the entire assembly for about 6 hours. J decided he now loves strawberry-flavoured milk more than anything else in the whole wide world. So at the end of 6 hours, I poured a cupful of strawberry milk into the frozen milkshake maker, replaced the blades and lid and made sure the plug covered the straw hole before handing the assembly over to J.

Strawberry milk ready to be made into a shake

He struggled with the apparatus for about 15 seconds before handing it straight back to me. It took me less than 3 minutes to whip up a frozen strawberry milkshake – 30 seconds of spinning followed by 30 seconds of shaking and then another minute and a half of spinning followed by a quick last shake.

Putting the Chillfactor Milkshake Maker through its paces

We opened the lid and my son was very excited to first scoop, then slurp the frozen milkshake. It was the first time in days that he drank a whole entire cupful of milk. Result!

A scoopful of delicious, thick, frozen milk

The Chillfactor Frozen Milkshake Maker seems to be a timely answer to our milk-drinking problems. What about you? Are your kids fussy when it comes to drinking milk? Do you think this milkshake maker could be a suitable solution?
