School Run Colours 11/02/15 - Treasure

School Run Colours

Pretty florets hung in a row
Dainty pearls strung on a bough
Laden treasure, drooping low
Golden orbs all aglow.

Yellow heads bobbing in the light
Tender buds shimmering bright
Twinkling specks on a starry night
In winter's gloom, a brief respite.

These are my School Run Colours for this week. If you are new to the School Run Colours linky, you can read all about it here, including how to link up.

  1. I kept seeing this same plant around too! Starting to bloom. As always lovely words =)

  2. Gorgeous! You've made it all sound quite edible!

  3. They reminded me of a string of pearls too :) #prose4t

  4. Wow. Looks like Spring is nearly with you in your part of the world. Not here though... :D

  5. they are beautiful colours altogether, amazing what nature produces

  6. I love the mix of greens with the bright yellow

    Thank you for linking up

  7. Spring is making an appearance isn't it, great poem and pic x

  8. We have one of those large Mahonia shrubs in our garden and right now it's covered in those yellow flowers you describe. The only thing in our garden flowering throughout the winter! I think it's nice to talk about colours at this time of year as we often associate February with greyness and cold but if you look closely it's not at all. A lovely poem.

  9. really beautiful colours. such a lovely flower.

  10. What beautiful words - it really does sum up the photo so well. I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with as spring develops. Thank you for linking to Prose for Thought x
