5 signs that my J is all grown up:
- Sits in a 'big boy chair' at the table, not in his high chair
- Drinks out of a glass, not a sippy cup
- Refuses to wear a bib
- Feeds himself with a spoon and fork
- Insists on having a placemat to rest his plate and bowl on
Playing with his food - Some things never change, do they? Whatever their age!
Ah they grow so quickly don't they!
ReplyDeleteI know! He was a tiny baby not that long ago. And now he is a little boy. All in the blink of an eye :-)
DeleteHaha great photo!! My daughter loves cucumber too! x
ReplyDeleteHe would eat it all day long if I let him! x
DeleteAh - I remember when D got to this stage - although he had to have a booster for a bit of time, he's a little short!
ReplyDeleteJ insisted on the 'big boy chair' even when his head could barely reach the top! All I could see was two little eyes peering out looking for food :-)
DeleteThey do grow up too quickly, it wizz by - my oldest was 14 last week..how did that happen?
ReplyDeleteAll in the blink of an eye :-)
DeleteI'm not sure when playing with your food ends. Maybe on a first restaurant date? ;)
ReplyDeleteHmmm, and then they start again after the wedding day!
DeleteAww. I remember when my eldest started doing those things, and I was so emotional cos it did seem like omg he has really grown up! My husband gave him a proper adults mug to drink out of and I cried lol - he still mocks for me that from time to time!!! Never bothered me as much with the younger two, think I learned to adapt a bit more!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. It is a milestone, isn't it? They are no longer our babies. They are suddenly all grown up, independent.
DeleteIt doesn't take long for them to want to be independent.
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up
Thanks for hosting such a lovely linky. Will try and be back next week.
DeleteLol nope they never grow out of playing with their food.
ReplyDeleteJust when I was beginning to hope ;-)
DeletePlaying with your food is part of the fun of eating!
ReplyDeleteI still play with my food, and I am 35 :)
ReplyDelete:-D
DeleteAh that seems like a long time ago now - although sometimes they regress - still occasionally feed the 6yo!!
ReplyDeleteI do find it strangely satisfying if he asks me to feed him. Though I wouldn't want to do it all the time, I suppose.
Deletelol @Emmysmummy too true. We have had regression in the cutlery department here too :S
ReplyDeleteOh yes by 18 months they can do everything can't they?
ReplyDeleteAww they certainly do grow up fast! My little one is 16 months and it's gone quickly!
ReplyDeleteThey sure do!
DeletePlaying with food is so much better than eating it
ReplyDeleteGreat photo! And cucumbers are good for your skin so I still put slices on my face sometimes ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Ruthy :-)
DeleteAnd before you know it, they're taller than you! :-)
ReplyDeleteWon't be long at all, in my case!
DeleteTime go's so quick , my two kids are so going to be bigger then me , hmmm dam lol .x
ReplyDeleteAw cute - mine seems to be going back a stage, insists on a bib and being spoon fed !!
ReplyDeleteAww that's brilliant! Great shot :)
