If you are stuck for something to do this half-term, there is no need to fret. Just head to your nearest Brewers Fayre`. They have scheduled a programme of activity mornings throughout May half-term.
That’s exactly what we did today morning. The sun was still being elusive, so J and I decided to head to our local Brewers Fayre to unleash our creativity, his more than mine.
We were supplied with crayons and Beano worksheets on arrival. So J started off spotting the differences, forming pairs and finding hidden words. I was impressed that he was able to spot words in a maze of letters. The child can only identify the alphabet visually and phonetically. He cannot actually comprehend the written word. But he was happy to pick out a S-P-L-A-T from the jumble. Good job he wasn’t too bothered about the meaning!
