I Hereby Solemnly Resolve

Two years on a trot I made a promise to myself to change things around in my life. Some worked, most didn't. So why am I doing it again? I've heard third time's a charm. Hence a stronger likelihood that the resolutions, all of them, will stick this year. And I will get that lifestyle change that has eluded me for so long.

Happy New Year 2016

Here goes. I hereby solemnly resolve to:

  • Write more
  • Move more
  • Blog more
  • Blog better
  • Sleep better
  • Eat less
  • Worry less
  • Procrastinate even less!
  • Live well
A tad more detail about what exactly I have in mind.

I am signing up to do Cancer Research UK's Race For Life in 2016. Nothing big, just the 5k. I can easily walk (or dance, as suggested on their website) the 5k in my current physical condition. I am throwing down the gauntlet here. For I intend to run that 5k. Means focus, determination and some amount of training. The perfect kick up the backside needed to kick-start my health regime.

On the blogging front, there are a few things that I need to do. First and foremost, I need to get into the habit of writing on a daily basis. It is much like exercise. The more you write, the better you get at it. I haven’t a clue whether I will get better or worse, but it is something that I want to do and will do.

Which brings me to my next blogging resolve – make a blogging schedule and stick with it. I am still working out the details for that one, but a few things I do know are these.

1) I will be linking up a lot more with the lovely Victoria’s Prose For Thought linky. So you will find at least one piece of creative writing on the blog each week.

2) Little Hearts, Big Love is starting a #366DaysOfGratitude on Instagram and I will be taking part. It will serve as an excellent reminder to be thankful for my little blessings each day. And a brilliant prompt to take more (and hopefully better) photos. I might even write a post every week about all the wonderful things I am grateful for.

3) I have signed up to crochet the Sky Blanket 2016. So there will be more about that on the blog.

4) I love to ramble (not just through parenthood) and we have travelled a fair bit as a family. I mean to blog about our travels, aiming for a post a week to relive all our adventures.

5) Issues. I want to blog more about anything that moves me enough to warrant a blog post. Like the Germany v/ Brazil World Cup match last year. Or the whole ‘increase the length of a school day’ fiasco.

Before I sign off for the last time this year, can I just say a huge thank you to all my readers. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and thank you for being a part of my journey as a I carry on Rambling Through Parenthood. Have a spectacular 2016.
