Tired

Oh, Snotty Nose
So full of cold
Feel so tired
And so very old.

Drained of strength
Hurting bones
Just so tired
Wearied groans.

Blankets and jumpers
Hot water and tea
Paracetamol, lozenges
Lemon and honey.

Sunbeams dancing
On the window sill
Warm and mocking
As I feel the chill.

M is in charge
I lie on the sofa
J playing in the sun
My boys spared, so far.

Long days spent
Listless in bed
Still a bit tired,
But on the mend.

  1. I'm so rubbish at writing poems - always have been!

Wishing you better, and that the boys don't catch it! x

    1. It has been just awful! I felt completely drained and out of sorts. Just wanted to stay in bed all day long. But that wasn't going to happen!

    1. Thank you Louisa. I am feeling a lot better now, just when the sunshine has gone and the awful rain and wind are back!

  7. This weather always gives me a cold when it first starts! I think my body finds it hard to deal with the seasons changing! Especially winter to spring - I feel like my nose will never be unblocked. I hope you feel better soon :)

    1. It is a bit of a catch22 situation. No rest as you are running around your tot, so the bugs linger for longer!

  18. We seem to have finally shifted all of the bugs, they've been plaguing us for the last few months so I'm hoping that is the last of them. Hope you feel better soon.
